It’s time again to join in the National recognition of Meals on Wheels programs nationwide. Every year Ravalli County Council on Aging kitchens serve close to 33,000 meals to Ravalli County seniors. The Meals on Wheels program is the most effective solution to end hunger, isolation, and help seniors remain in their homes. We partner with local organizations like Cultivating Connections, Sweet Root Farms, and other local farmers and ranchers. We have 7 staff in 3 kitchens, 4 meal sites, and AMAZING volunteers to distribute it all.
We are all aware of the recent challenges on a state and federal level. The Council on Aging remains committed to providing uninterrupted meals and other vital services. We do not foresee any change to our program. But still, costs continue to rise on food and other supplies, so we ask for you consider donating in honor of a friend, neighbor, or loved one who wants to remain at home and could use a hot meal and a smiling face to check in on them. Thank you for your continued support!
We would be honored if you would join us to support our seniors by visiting our clients while helping with meal deliveries, making check-in phone calls to senior clients, or attending a congregate meal at one of our three facilities (Stevensville, Victor or Darby) during the month of March. In doing so, you can support your senior constituents and help RCCOA gain much-needed visibility for this cause and successful community relationships. You can reach us at 406-363-5690.
