How Can I Help?
Be a part of our mission of providing the opportunity for independence.
Volunteering to help the Council on Aging provide services to our friends and neighbors in the Bitterroot Valley is a great way to meet people while helping folks in your community. The most common thing we hear is how our volunteers get so much more from our clients than they give to our programs. All of us at the Council on Aging know how much we depend on our volunteers and we are truly grateful for the support they give us. Whether you are helping us here in the office, one of our celebrated Meals on Wheels drivers, or calling our seniors with the Telephone Reassurance Program, you will truly be a part of something special here in the valley.
Meals on Wheels Driver
Being a Meals on Wheels Driver is one way to provide direct support to homebound seniors in your area. The delivery of nutritious meals is a powerful way you can have a direct hand in allowing a senior the opportunity to stay in their home. We are looking for friendly community members with a smile and the desire to have an immediate impact on their neighbors. If a weekly route is more than you can do, substitute drivers are always needed.
Many of our programs require extensive reporting and paperwork. All of us at the Council on Aging appreciate our friends who support us here in the office with filing, mailings, and general office assistance.
If you feel like any of these options might be a place you can help, please contact Staff. We are always open to your suggestions for where your skills can benefit the seniors in our community.
The role of the Happy Helper is to provide regular weekly support for caregivers of adults who are unable to be left alone. Happy Helpers may work in a variety of settings, including personal homes, assisted living facilities and foster care homes.

Ravalli Council on Aging depends on the generosity of donors to meet the growing needs of our elder population. The needs of our expanding senior population, along with the rising costs of supplies, continues to outpace our budget and your donation supports the continued expansion of services for older adults in need. RCCOA is grateful for all donations and your contribution may be tax deductible.

Often, a specific program has been of benefit to a loved one or family member. Sponsorship of a specific program such as Meals on Wheels or Lifeline can be a powerful way to allow other seniors in the community to experience the benefits of healthy food, in home safety, or continued independence.
Ravalli Council on Aging depends on the contributions of members of our community to keep our programs operational and expanding. We gratefully accept donations in any amount. Donations may be mailed to our offices in Hamilton or we invite you to bring them in to our offices where we can give you a tour and show you what we do and where your donations will be put to use serving those in our community.
If you have any questions or wish to discuss any of these opportunities to support our mission of “providing the opportunity for independence”, please contact our Executive Director, Cathy Orr; firstname.lastname@example.org
